Number 1 - 98% have NO IDEA what they would like to achieve from being in Business/Practice.
If you would like to be successful, take a moment right now and make some decisions about what your Practice/business is going to be. Is it going to be full or part time, how many clients do you INTEND to see each week, how much do you INTEND to charge, what types of issues do you have a passion to assist people with, how do you CHOSE to balance your work and life commitments, where do you CHOSE to work from. Once you have a clear picture for your future, pick a future date that feels appropriate and then write your picture down in the following manner; It is now (your date) and I have achieved my aim of creating …(whatever it is for you)
Number 2 - 85% admitted to having NO training or understanding of basic business skills
Many clients dislike (some hate) the idea of becoming a ‘business’. So I often compare how the business of their practice is the same as the yeast in bread – it’s the ESSENTIAL ingredient that makes the dough reach its potential. It’s really simple really - money comes in, plans are made, budgets are set, goods are purchased, services are provided, bills are paid and at the end of the day, week, month or year it’s hoped there’s a surplus that can be used to better your circumstances. It’s ONLY when you give equal importance (not necessarily time) to the ‘business’ aspect of your Practice do you create a truly ‘successful business’.
Number 3 – We all think we can do it alone.
As Coaches we all know HOW we can assist others with creating a better life by being the ear they can turn to and the source of impartial advice to keep them heading in the right direction. Why is it then that so many coaches, practitioners and business owners fail to get advice from a Coach or Mentor for their business?
We already know that 85% have little or no idea about business – so wouldn’t a business coach be a good idea?
Hopefully you’re part of the 15% who’ve got it right – if not......
