Nigel (Will) Polak
Nigel is a Life Coach, lawyer, psychotherapist, mediator and philosopher (of sorts). He is a father, friend and lover. He's a window onto a world of unforeseen possibility.
At the core of his life and practice is the willingness to live authentically. He believes that authenticity requires an honest awareness of one's self and one's role in relationships with other people. His personal philosophy is: maximise my own choices while maximising the choice of the maximum number of people around me. And the universe is a very BIG place!!
His philosophy and coaching includes: finding your true path and purpose (however you choose to define it); living authentically with others and assisting others to resolve 'conflicts' in their lives; living in harmony with nature; and tapping into the outermost possibilities authentic living.
Experiencing Boundaries
This paper investigates boundaries as phenomena that are subjectively experienced, rather than as things that can be pointed to in objective reality. I argue that we as human beings do not experience objects and other people as they are, rather we perceive and respond to them within the confines of our pre-determined expectations of them.
Kinglake Fires: An account by Nigel (Will) Polak
On 7th February 2009 Australia’s most destructive bushfires (so far) destroyed more than 2000 homes and took more than 200 precious lives. The resulting scenes of devastation were beyond anything that any of us had ever dreamt or imagined. All on a sunny Saturday afternoon at home with my pregnant partner, Anna, and our very brave and resilient 2 year old Olivander (Olie).
After the Fires: Interview with Nigel (Will) Polak on Sunday 29th March 2009
In an interview with Renée Hasseldine, Nigel (Will) Polak gives his perspective on the Kinglake fires of 7 February 2009 as both a Kinglake resident and coach. Nigel very kindly agreed to give this interview while putting together a cot for his son in their new rental home where they plan to live until they have rebuilt in Kinglake. A very real example of how almost two months later, much of his time and energy is taking care of the necessities – making sure his family has a safe and comfortable place to live.
